Scar Therapy
Lymphatic Drainage & Scar Therapy based in East Hampshire.
Based on Hayling Island, I am a Lymphoedema/Lipoedema Nurse Specialist & Scar Therapy Practitioner, also working within NHS settings.
Lymphoedema

Is the swelling of any body part caused by an abnormal build-up of fluid in the tissues. Most commonly in an arm or a leg but can also be in the head, neck, chest, abdomen and genitals.
Lipoedema

Generally presents in females only with accumulating excess weight below the waist, the feet are usually spared.
Chronic Oedema

Often due to an underlying venous disease in which fluid accumulates in the tissues over a period of time when the fluid drainage system (lymphatic) is no longer efficient.
Scar Therapy:
The restore method of scar therapy is gentle and non-invasive and develops to treat scar tissue, fibrosis and adhesions after surgery or injury, using specialist scar massage and fascial release.

Using a hands on approach the aim is to improve pain, discomfort and sensitivity along with emotional support to aid wellbeing.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

MLD aims to stimulate the lymphatic system to aid the drainage of any congestion or swelling for those with Lymphoedema / Lipoedema.

MLD can be carried out post operatively and can improve the outcome of your surgery, for example following a tummy tucks or liposuction. This along with scar therapy, can increase confidence and knowledge in managing self care and recovery.
